Scott Dickie MS Ed

Scott Dickie is the Head Instructor / Program Director for Be A Pro Goaltending School.

Scott Dickie with Memorial Cup Scott has now retired from professional hockey, and now is seeking to help young goalies reach their dreams of playing professional hockey. Scott has played in the Phoenix Coyotes (National Hockey League) system playing in the American Hockey League (AHL) and the United Hockey League (UHL) and also the Nashville Predators (NHL) system with Rockford (UHL). Scott has attended three NHL training camps as a free agent, including the Boston Bruins (2001), New York Rangers (2002), and Phoenix Coyotes (2003). In both 2001 and 2003 Scott led each Rookie Tournament in Save Percentage and Goals Against Average, and won the 2003 LA Kings Rookie Challenge.

Scott has played in 6 NHL exhibition games and has a 5-1-0 record. He has also compiled a very successful junior career culminating with a Memorial cup win. He was drafted 172nd overall to the Kitchener Rangers and was considered a long shot to ever play in the Ontario Hockey League. After proving many doubters wrong he made the Rangers and began what was one of the most successful careers in Ranger history. Scott finished his career with over 100 wins total in a Ranger uniform, his record in the regular season was 87-56-16 and in playoffs 20-9. He also set the record for lowest GAA in Ranger history with a 2.59 average. Scott has also won Team MVP awards, 3 Star selection awards, scholastic awards and the Hap Emms Memorial Trophy as the Memorial Cup's most outstanding goaltender.

Scott also won the Western Junior B Rookie of the Year. Scott has also worked at goaltending schools such as Allaire's, and John Elkin's. Scott is currently a goalie scout for the Kitchener Rangers OHL and goalie coach for the Kitchener Dutchmen of the Mid-Western Junior B League.

Scott was most recently named to the Kitchener Rangers all time team with like of Al McInnes, Scott Stevens, Derek Roy, Steve Rice and Brian Bellows


Brett Leonhardt

Brett will be one of the instructors/demonstrators for the summer camps.

Brett is currently in his Senior year at Neumann College (NCAA) and holds the record for tallest goalie in NCAA history to record a win at 6'7". His freshman year Brett finished among the top goaltenders in the State University of New York Conference with a 1.40 GAA, and a save percentage of .940, also winning conference goalie of the week on two occasions. In his sophmore year he finished second in conference GAA and among the top in all categories in the nation with a 2.50 GAA and a .920 Save percentage. Again earning conference goalie of the week twice throughout the season. His team is currently ranked 7th in the nation and finished 1st in their conference headed into the NCAA tournament.

Before University Brett attended camps for both the Kitchener Rangers (OHL) and the London Knights (OHL). The majority of his junior carreer was spent playing for the Kitchener Dutchmen in the mid-western Jr. B league, reaching the league finals twice.


Kyle Knechtel

Kyle will be one of the instructors/demonstrators for the summer camps.

Kyle currently plays for the Elmira Sugar Kings after a successful OHL career. Stops in Kyle career include Windsor (where he was orginally drafted), Owen Sound and Mississauga. Kyle's impressive OHL resume includes being the goalie of record in all 4 games while the Windsor Spitfires were the only team in OHL History to come from back from trailing 3-0 to the Soo Greyhounds in the 2004 OHL Playoffs.

Kyle is known as an excellent puck handler and for his excellent work ethic, assets which he passes along to Be a Pro Students. Kyle is usually our full time demonstator as he loves being in the net that much!


Mike Collichio

Mike will be one of the instructors/demonstrators for the summer camps.

As a freshman in 2004-2005 Mike started 23 games for the Knights recording a 3.86 GAA and a .914 SV%...Mike had a record of 4 wins, 16 losses, 2 ties...recorded first NCAA shutout vs. conference opponent Hobart where he faced 52 shots (01/29/05)...faced over 40 shots in 11 games, 5 of those being 50 or greater...appointed 2nd ECAC West All Conference Team and team MVP.

As a sophomore in 2005-2006 Mike started 20 games with a 10-9-1 record...recorded a 2.92 GAA and a .914 sv%...recorded his solo shutout on the season and 2nd career against Utica College (12/31/05)...MVP of the St. Michael's Holiday Tournament...awarded 1st ECAC West All Conference Team Goaltender of the Year...voted team MVP for second consecutive season.


Parker VanBuskirk

Parker will be one of the instructors/demonstrators for the summer camps.

Parker VanBuskirk

Parker is currently playing professionally in the East Coast Hockey League. Prior to the ECHL Parker played in the Ontario Hockey League for the Sarnia Sting, Saginaw Spirit, Belleville Bulls, and Kitchener Rangers. Parker has played in the OHL Championship series as well as the Memorial Cup and in his final season in the OHL he was named MVP and top Overage Player for the Kitchener Rangers.
