Drill of the Month - May

Back Door Play

Back Door Plays are seen mostly while short handed. The key for these is recognizing the back door threat and being strong enough to get there. When the pass is made made sure you get square to the shooter and preferably get there with a butterfly slide. The shooter can rotate between 1 and 2 to change the length the goalie must cover.

Make sure you do not lead with your butt!!!
